MOLD Share the functional structure of plastic mold systems?

September 15, 2024,

The functional structure of plastic mold systems is a crucial part of the plastic processing field. It mainly consists of six major systems: pouring system, temperature control system, molding parts system, exhaust system, guidance system, and ejection system. These systems each undertake different functions and work together to complete the molding process of plastic products.

1. The pouring system is the part of the flow channel where plastic enters the mold cavity from the nozzle, including the main flow channel, cold material cavity, diversion channel, and sprue. The design of this system directly affects the flow and filling of plastic in the mold, playing a crucial role in the quality and appearance of the molded products.
2. The molding part system consists of moving molds, fixed molds, cavities, cores, molding rods, etc., which together form the shape of the product. The core forms the inner surface of the product, while the cavity forms the outer surface shape of the product. According to the process and manufacturing requirements, sometimes the core and die are composed of several assembled blocks, and sometimes they are made as a whole, only using inserts in easily damaged and difficult to process parts.
3. The temperature control system is designed to meet the requirements of injection molding process for mold temperature, ensuring the quality of plastic molding by adjusting the temperature of the mold. Common temperature control methods include designing a cooling system to cool or heat the mold, usually by opening cooling water channels or installing electric heating elements inside the mold.

4. The exhaust system is designed to eliminate the air in the cavity during the injection molding process and the gas generated by the melting of plastic, in order to avoid defects such as pores, air marks, or burning in the product.
The position of the exhaust port should be carefully considered to prevent accidental spraying of molten material and injury. It is usually set at the end of the molten material flow in the mold cavity or on the parting surface of the mold.
5. The guiding system is used to ensure accurate alignment between the moving and fixed molds during mold closing. Typically, a guiding component is composed of guide columns and guide sleeves, and inner and outer conical surfaces are set on the moving and fixed molds to assist in positioning.
6. The ejector system includes a ejector pin, ejector pin plate, ejector pin guide rod, ejector pin reset spring, and other parts. The ejector mechanism is used to push or pull plastic products out of the mold cavity and flow channel position for the next injection molding cycle.

When do plastic mold manufacturers share the functional structure of plastic mold systems?

The design and optimization of the functional structure of plastic mold systems by plastic mold manufacturers are of great significance for the quality, production efficiency, and cost control of plastic products. Only by fully understanding and utilizing these systems can sustainable development and innovation be achieved in the field of plastic processing.
