Plastic Mold Factory, Injection Molding Process for Plastic Product Production, Mold Design and Manufacturing
Since the human race entered the industrial society, the production of various products has moved away from manual labor, and automated machine production has become widespread in all industries, including plastic product production. Nowadays, the production of plastic products is mainly achieved through injection molding, using injection molds for processing in injection molding machines. Everyday plastic products like various household appliances and digital product casings are all produced through injection molding. So, how is a complete plastic product processed inside an injection molding machine? The following will be explained in detail by the editor from a Shenzhen injection mold factory.
1. Heating and pre-plasticization phase: The pre-plasticization screw, driven by the transmission system, conveys and compresses the material from the hopper to the front. Thanks to the action of the heater, screw, and barrel, the material gradually melts, forming a certain amount of molten plastic. Under the pressure of the melt, the screw slowly retracts, adjusting the retraction distance as needed to achieve the predetermined injection volume.
2. Mold closure and clamping phase: The mold locking mechanism drives the mold plates to partially close and lock the mold, ensuring sufficient clamping force to maintain the mold in a closed state.
3. Injection device forward movement phase: After the mold is closed, the injection seat is pushed forward, ensuring that the injection machine nozzle completely aligns with the main gate of the mold.
4. Injection and holding pressure phase: When the hydraulic cylinder pushes the screw to inject the melt into the mold cavity, a certain pressure is needed to replenish the material, ensuring the density, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical properties of the plastic part.
5. Pressure relief phase: When the melt at the mold gate solidifies, pressure relief is performed.
6. Injection device retraction phase: After pressure relief is completed, the screw retracts to prepare for the next feeding and pre-plasticization process.
7. Mold opening and ejection of the molded part phase: After the plastic part inside the mold cavity is cooled and shaped, the mold locking mechanism opens the mold and ejects the part.
Following the injection molding process for plastic product production, a basic plastic product is completed. However, most plastic parts also need to undergo additional processes such as oil spraying, silk screening, hot stamping, laser engraving, etc., and be assembled with other products to form a complete product before reaching the consumer. The production process of plastic products is complex and meticulous, requiring close coordination at every step to ensure the production of high-quality plastic products.
