China’s unique medium wire cutting technology cannot escape its fate. After years of endless low price competition, manufacturers no longer focus on quality, let alone technological innovation. The chaos of rough production is damaging the healthy development of the entire medium wire cutting industry.
Nowadays, more manufacturers are still at the level of fast wire cutting that has been in production for nearly half a century. Low cost machine tool castings, simple mechanical structure, and the use of internationally obsolete open-loop stepper motor drive method, coupled with a lack of technical accumulation for a long time, have caused serious quality problems to occur after only a few months of use when customers purchase a medium wire walking machine tool that they are satisfied with when displaying samples. It is even worse than fast wire walking, and customers exclaim that they have been deceived.

Having worked in the electrical machining industry for 30 years, Huang Shujie, the founder of Suzhou Hanqi Company, began to participate in the development and production of Japanese electrical machining technology in the early 1990s. He was one of the earliest electrical machining technology talents in China and also trained many talents for the industry. During this period, he was deeply distressed by the fact that the Chinese people’s original medium wire walking machine tool failed to compete.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. In 2024, a customer from Hebei called and planned to purchase several medium wire drive machines for precision gear machining. The customer requested that the machining accuracy be maintained within 10 μ m. The customer candidly told Hanqi that they had communicated with dozens of medium wire drive manufacturers in China and had also conducted trial cutting, but none of them could meet the machining requirements. They asked Hanqi if they could meet the requirements. Hanqi quickly arranged a trial machining for the customer, and the customer was delighted to find that the machining accuracy was very good. The customer later ordered multiple Hanqi mid wire cutting machines, and the performance is still stable to this day.
At the end of 2015, “Gree Electric” planned to purchase a large number of wire cutting machine tools, and Gree Company was at a loss due to the chaos in the wire cutting industry. In order to buy truly high-quality medium wire cutting machine tools, they took an unconventional approach and held a months long “arena competition” where seven well-known domestic brands of medium wire cutting machine tools competed together. After a 4-month trial and various indicator evaluations, Hanqi won the championship with the highest score and became a cooperative supplier of Gree Electric Appliances.
Technical cooperation with Swiss companies
Hanqi’s professional production and manufacturing capabilities have also been recognized by Swiss companies. In March 2016, a leading global electrical processing enterprise officially signed a technology transfer contract with Hanqi, and the FW series wire cutting machine production line, a domestic first-line brand that can maintain high precision for a long time, was officially transferred to Hanqi. All production and manufacturing processes strictly comply with Swiss company standards. Building a national brand in the machine tool industry
In recent years, the domestic equipment manufacturing industry has been sluggish. Hanqi has won unanimous praise from large domestic enterprises, military enterprises, research institutes, and industry associations for its pursuit of core technologies and continuous innovation.
In 2016, Hanqi’s high standard and high-performance five axis CNC “F” series wire walking machine won the “Jiangsu Province High Quality Product Award” and was awarded the “High tech Certification Product Certificate” by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science. In June of the same year, Hanqi was also awarded the title of “Private Technology Enterprise in Jiangsu Province”.
