It is required to draw according to the national drafting standards, but it is also required to combine our factory standards with the factory’s customary drawing methods not specified by the country. Before drawing the final assembly drawing of the mold, a process diagram should be drawn and meet the requirements of the component drawing and process data. The dimensions guaranteed by the next process should be marked with the words “process dimensions” on the drawing. If no other mechanical processing is carried out after forming except for repairing burrs, the process diagram will be exactly the same as the part diagram.

It is best to indicate the part number, name, material, material shrinkage rate, drawing scale, etc. below the process diagram. Usually, the process is illustrated on the mold assembly drawing.

Draw the final assembly structure diagram

When drawing the final assembly drawing, try to use a 1:1 ratio, starting with the cavity and drawing the main view and other views simultaneously.

(1) The final assembly drawing of the mold should include the following contents:

1) Structure of mold forming part

2) The structural form of the pouring system and exhaust system.

3) Parting surface and parting method.

4) The external structure and all connecting components, as well as the positions of positioning and guiding components.

5) Mark the height dimensions of the mold cavity (not mandatory, as needed) and the overall dimensions of the mold.

6) Auxiliary tools (such as parts removal and mold removal tools, calibration tools, etc.).

7) Number all parts in order and fill out the detailed list.

8) Annotate technical requirements and usage instructions.

(2) The technical requirements for the mold assembly drawing include:

1) Performance requirements for certain systems of molds. For example, assembly requirements for the ejection system and slider core pulling structure.

2) Requirements for mold assembly process. For example, after mold assembly, the bonding gap between the mating surfaces of the parting surface should not exceed 0.05mm. The parallelism requirements of the upper and lower surfaces of the mold should be specified, and the size determined by assembly and the requirements for that size should be indicated.

3) Mold usage, assembly and disassembly methods.

4) Requirements for anti oxidation treatment, mold numbering, engraving, marking, oil sealing, storage, etc.

5) Requirements for trial molding and inspection.
